9 years ago my best friend took me far up in the mountains to a beautiful place with a crystal clear lake on a day I was feeling a little blue. We drove so far through back roads and hiked 1 mile to get there. Once we got there I was truly breathless at the beauty this place had. We spent the whole day there swimming, catching butterflys and laying out. This was the first time I looked at him in a different way. This place is where we fell in love ... I know, I know !! If you know me at all you would know I don't like mooshy. I much rather watch a zombie movie than a chic flick but that is what happened so bear with me.
We decided to take our two little girls to our special place. We drove so far and when we were 5 miles away from the lake we came to a complete stop because the run down bridge that was once there was gone. All I thought to say with a moose like silly voice was the quote from the movie "Vacation " when they finally get to Wally world " Sorry folks we are closed for renovations " ;) We were really sad that after all that driving we were not going to be able to show our little ones this beautiful place. Then we discovered a path that was really rough and a creek. It looked like you could drive through it? Jeff enthusiastically said we can make it ! I thought he was crazy since we have no 4 wheel drive in our Suv ... and we were in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. But Yes the crazy man did it !! After getting stuck a few times, he did it. I have to say even though I wanted to kill him; It was so worth it.
Once we got there after not being there for 8 years I was taken back again with how beautiful it really is. I was so happy to see this amazing place again. Almost untouched .. So secluded, so fantasy like. There is a sense of peace there you cant feel anywhere else. So many wonderful memories .
The girls love it just us much.
