On Christmas day 2009, my mom became violently ill. We rushed her to the hospital, and over the course of several days, many tests were conducted. Then we heard the dreaded news…mom had Stage 4 colon Cancer. She was initially given one year to live. Two and a half years later, she is now succumbing to the disease. Our family is so grateful to have been given more time with her than was originally predicted. Mom has been with us to see Julieanne grow and develop into an extraordinary young woman. A woman, who, incidentally, leads a team every year for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She is so proud of her grand-daughter! She has seen Jackson, my son who is autistic, become a wonderful young man who loves to chase our dog and play in the garden with Grandpa. Mom has been with us, to see her son married, and to share many happy holidays and vacations with us.
My mother's health had begun to rapidly decline. I wanted to get a few photos of our family together one last time.
It was a beautiful morning, and although my mom was in pain, she made it out to the backyard for our shoot.
I love what Alex has done for us. The photos are so touching, and really show what a close-knit family we are. Though mom will be moving on soon, I believe she will always be with us in spirit. I am so grateful that we have these beautiful photos to look at, and remember that glorious morning together in the backyard.

Jennifer's mother Susan passed away at 10:50am on July, 06 She thanks everyone for all the sweet thoughts and prayers. Jennifer and her family were all there to hold her hand. She wasn't in any pain, while she sat in the backyard with her son, she saw two doves fly into the yard. She thought of her. She is at peace in Heaven ♥ Pin It
